Invites You to attend three of our meetings as a visitor to experience for yourself the PSA benefits and the warm and friendly atmosphere on which the PSA prides itself.

Michael Felix
“Portraiture in pastel”

Michael Felix will be demonstrating portraiture in pastels from a model. He will be looking at big shapes and dramatic contrasts. He is aiming to be led by the inspiration the model provides for him.

Michael GL Felix is a well renowned portraitist, working for many years in England, Europe and now Australia. He has worked as the courtroom artist for channel 9 for a number of years.

Winter Competition

The tickets for this Prize Winning Painting by Chris Blake will be sold until the rafffle is drawn at noon on the closing day of the show, 23rd January.

Our Membership

comprises artists at all levels of their professional development. We encourage and support beginners to advanced pastellists. A number of our members are full time professional artists who are only too delighted to share their knowledge with those who seek such assistance. Membership is open to all those who have an interest in the art of soft pastels, whether a painter or a connoisseur of the arts. Our Society

was established in Brisbane, Queensland, in 1985 and has progressed from its formative years to now include over 200 enthusiastic members. These include members from right around Australia as well as overseas who find pastel an ideal medium through which to express their artistic talents.

Our Vision

is to promote the art of soft pastel painting through the provision and facilitation of various activities.
