Saturday 12 June 2010 9am - 4pm ( Please arrive by 8.30 to set up.)
At Kingsbury Room, Queen Alexandra Community Centre
Old Cleveland Rd. (opposite French St) Coorparoo
Workshop Outline;
While this workshop is designed with beginners in mind, any pastel artists are welcome to attend. Printed information regarding materials, different qualities of pastels available, & samples of different surfaces for pastelling will be available to participants. Not a lot of class time will be devoted to this and we will quickly move on to application methods and practical exercises.
A simple still life with limited colour range and a wide value range will be set up l to use as subject matter if artists wish. However if members of the group want to bring their own subject matter they will need to bring their own photographic resources.
Direction regarding good composition, work practices and story telling in paintings will be given by way of demonstration followed by individual assistance to each artist present. There will be something for everyone so come prepared to glean what you can from all present. Remember that the tutor often learns something new too! We all bring snippets of learning from a wide range of experiences.
